Finding the right pillow can be as hard as finding the right mattress. So when you find the precise one it can be hard to let go even when all the warning signs start to show. The following three tests can determine if your pillow is still good or not:
If your pillow is lumpy – If it keeps lumps even after fluffing.
If it needs fluffing to provide any kind of support- You shouldn’t have to constantly fluff or rearrange to be comfortable.
If you fold it in half and squeeze all the air out and it doesn’t bounce right back.
If your pillow cannot pass these three tests it is time to get a new one. Even with cases and protectors for your pillows it’s generally recommended that you replace them every three to five years. Even if they are still hygienic to sleep with the support in them can break down causing neck pain and other issues.
